My Background

 

I have been working with vulnerable children and their families for over seventeen years, including eleven as a qualified social worker and social care manager. I have held a range of senior positions, and have extensive experience of providing innovative safeguarding support, policy reviews, assessment and case consultation both within Social Services and the charity sector.

 

I have worked with and led charities that take young people into the outdoors, off the streets or who work via a wide range of other non-standard methods since the early days of my career and believe working in these ways, properly supported, can often create the biggest difference for otherwise disadvantaged young people.

 

I am a member of the British Association of Social Workers and certified via the Health & Care Professions Council. My services are covered via full professional indemnity insurance. In addition to my consultancy work, I am also a trustee and founding member of the children's therapeutic adventure charity, Free to Be.
